Privacy

Mindweave is built to collect as little as possible. This page says what it does collect, so you can decide for yourself.
This website
The website sets no cookies, has no analytics and no advertising, and loads nothing from other companies. Even the fonts are served from the site itself. The company that hosts the site keeps ordinary server logs, such as your IP address and browser, the way any web host does. I do not use them to follow anyone.
The desktop app and the terminal program
Your code, your files, your conversations and your keys stay on your computer. Mindweave has no account system and no servers that receive them.
When you ask it to do something, it sends your conversation to the AI company whose model you picked, using the key you gave it, or to a model running on your own computer. That company's own privacy policy covers what it does with the text. Mindweave is not involved in that exchange and never sees it.
Usage counting
Mindweave does not count its users or track how it is used. It sends nothing about you or your computer to me, not even which version you run. If I add something like this in the future, it will be switched off until you turn it on, and this page will be updated first to say exactly what it sends.
Some earlier versions did send a random number and the version about once a day. That is switched off now, and updating Mindweave stops it. Those versions also saved the number in a file called analytics.json in the .mindweave folder in your home folder. Nothing reads that file any more, and you can delete it.
Feedback
If you send feedback from the program, it goes into a Google Form, so Google handles it as well. Send only what you are happy to share, and leave out anything private. Whatever you write there I can read, and I may keep it to fix the problem you describe.
If you write to me, I get your email address and whatever you put in the message. I use it only to answer you, and I keep the conversation for as long as it is useful to both of us. You can ask me to delete it at any time. Please do not send anything confidential in a first message.
Updates
The desktop app checks GitHub for a newer version about every six hours. This is a plain request for two small files. It sends no account, no identifier and nothing about you or your computer, though GitHub sees the request the way any website sees a visitor. The app downloads an update only after you press the button.
Downloads and other sites
The downloads and the source code are on GitHub, and the terminal program is on npm. Those services have their own privacy policies, and they may record that you downloaded something.
Your rights
If you are in the European Union, the United Kingdom or somewhere with similar laws, you can ask what I hold about you, ask me to delete it, or object to it. Anything an earlier version sent is anonymous, so I can only find it if you send me the number from the analytics.json file mentioned above. To ask, open an issue on GitHub. Please do not put anything private in it.
Not affiliated
Mindweave is an independent project. It works with models from many companies, and their names are used only to say what it works with. It is not made, endorsed or sponsored by any of them.
No warranty
Mindweave is free software under the Apache 2.0 licence, provided as it is, without any promise that it works or is fit for any purpose. It can make mistakes, and it can change or delete files in the folders you point it at, so keep backups of anything you cannot afford to lose.
